Our station platforms are one of the solutions we’re best known for, both in Australia and New Zealand and around the world too. Made from Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP), also known as FRP or fibreglass, they are a low-carbon, lightweight, cost-effective alternative to traditional materials like concrete, tarmac and steel.
With an innovative weight-reducing design, that reduces carbon and lowers on-site logistics requirements, our station platforms have won multiple awards and been hailed as “game changing” by industry insiders. Dura Platform can cut platform installation time by up to 65% – benefiting passengers who are able to re-access the station sooner and saving labour costs for rail contractors.
With over 20,000 square metres already successfully installed at railway stations across the globe, we were delighted to introduce Dura Platform to Australia and New Zealand in 2018.
Dura Platform can span up to an industry-leading 3.2m. Its light weight removes the need for RRVs or other heavy lifting equipment. Its hidden fixing system minimises trip hazards, and the platform is also crankable to create an instant 1:40 fall to manage drainage.
Our 600mm plank is also available with a solid surface, eliminating the need for longitudinal cover plates to cover the fixings,as well as providing a smart, uniform appearance . This modular platform system requires minimal maintenance and can incorporate a high visibility tactile pad recessed into the surface for enhanced safety.
