Fire Rating

Our proprietary d2 Dura Grating Standard Mesh is the first in the industry to be produced as Class B BS EN13501, superseding BS476.

Proven Anti-Slip

Our high spec surface materials are tested to 1.1 million footfalls (BS 7976-2), with ultra low slip potential and max durability.

Colour Fade

Use of hi-tech resin systems and application techniques means d2 Dura Grating’s colour is consistent and long lasting.

Our Most Advanced Anti-Slip Surface Ever: Tested to Over 1 million Footfalls

Dura Composites is committed to evolving our innovative product range to ensure that our customers experience unrivalled performance from their composite materials.

That’s why we’ve re-engineered d2 Dura Grating to deliver our best ever anti-slip surface.

Dura Composites’ unique high specification composition has been rigorously tested (in accordance with BS 7976-2:2002+A1:2013) and achieves ultra-low slip potential in both wet and dry conditions.

Not all tests are the same. We’ve invested heavily in ensuring that our test conditions simulate the effects of 3 months’ worth of pendulum testing, to assess the long term performance and durability of the Dura Composites products.

Under this recent testing, Dura Composites new d2 Dura Grating achieved an incredible score of 62 in the wet, (against the low slip threshold of just 36), making it ideal for almost all flooring conditions.

And what’s more, the low slip potential of the surface was proven to reduce by a mere 5% after an incredible 1.1 million footfalls, so you can have peace of mind in the safety of your heavy-duty flooring product for your specific application, whether it’s public sector or private sector.

Fire Safety: Designing out the Risk

Dura Composites is committed to helping ensure that you choose the most appropriate product for your specific fire safety project needs. Designing out the risk will ensure that your building project will safely comply with current and future building regulations.

BS EN 13501-1: 2018 Fire classification of construction products and building elements

d2 GRP Dura Grating flooring achieves a classification of Bfl s1, meaning very limited contribution to fire, with low smoke emissions.

BS EN 13501-1:2018 was published on 14th January 2019. It provides the reaction to fire classification procedure for all construction products, including products incorporated within building elements

The process for classification under this standard involves a combination of up to five rigorous tests designed to assess the product on a range of characteristics, including combustibility, heat levels, flame spread and smoke release. Once tested, the product receives an official classification of its fire rating, known as a Euroclass rating.

From best performing to worst performing, the Euroclass system is: A1, A2, B, C, D, E and F. It also provides additional classification (typically associated with reaction to fire classes D – B) for smoke production (from s1 (little or no smoke) to s3 (substantial smoke)) and flaming droplets/particles (from d0 (none) to d2 (quite a lot)).
