Why Choose Dura Slab Structural Stair Treads?

Dura Composites’ system speeds up install times and reduce costs, possessions and bridge closures, thereby limiting disruption to end users. The Dura systems made from GRP are lightweight, high strength, anti-slip, non-corrosive and non-conductive and overcome all of the problems normally associated with the use of traditional materials such as wood, steel and concrete.
Where previous composite treads on the market have been limited in span capabilities, Dura Composites has the ability to span up to 2.1m clear open span, achieving the required 5kN/m2 at L/200 deflection and meaning that additional supports can be avoided in most scenarios.
The Dura Slab Structural Stair Tread design can be specified with built-in risers, speeding up the install process whilst increasing safety, particularly in scenarios where bridge treads are located near overhead lines or are replacing open risers. Also included is a very slight fall to assist in the prevention of water pooling. No heavy lifting equipment is needed as all panels can be easily manhandled even in full stock lengths.

Why Choose Dura Tread Non-Structural Stair Tread Covers?

Dura Composites also offers a range of Dura Tread non-structural stair tread covers, gritted plates and stair nosing strips, which provide quick and cost-effective solutions to improving safety in potential slip hazard areas where the underlying structure is sound. Dura Tread covers are easy to install to existing concrete, wood or steel stair treads using a mechanical stainless steel fixing or general purpose adhesive to provide a highly visible, robust and durable slip resistant walking surface.

There are several different widths and colours available depending on your application requirements, all of which meet the highest demands in both safety and durability. The high visibility nosing highlights the leading edge of the step, and the low profile characteristics of the Dura Tread Cover allows it to be fitted to new or existing metal, concrete, or timber steps whilst only increasing the overall step height by 5mm.

Dura fibreglass stair tread covers, floor sheeting and stair nosings are precision engineered anti-slip products, designed to provide a sure footed and safe solution for fitting over an existing slippery surface. The integral bonded grit produces a long lasting and hard wearing surface ideal for covering and making safe slippery walking surfaces such as metal, wood or concrete.

Dura Grating Structural Treads

Our Dura Grating Stair Treads are made from the latest innovation in open mesh grating known as d2 Dura Grating.

The 45mm mini mesh d2 Dura Grating of the landings and treads is is designed to be compliant with BS 6399 to meet 2.5Kn loadings (at 0.5% / L200) deflection. This is around 30% stronger than the standard 38mm grating used by other manufacturers.

The smaller hole size of 45mm mini mesh d2 Dura Grating meets the requirements of the 20mm European Ball Falling Test and limits the risk of tools and equipment dropping through larger 32mm holes that could injure people or delay works. Furthermore, the smaller holes provide a greater sense of security and reduce likelihood of vertigo.

All treads feature DDA compliant gritted nosings in yellow as standard which have a durable full angle profile, rather than the small strips used by others, which are prone to failure.

Dura Slab Structural Landings

Both reduce or eliminate the need for additional supports to break spans down, providing huge advantages over other composite solutions on the market.

Dura Slab Structural Landings are designed as a modular system, allowing the contractor huge flexibility both at the design stage and on site.

Dura Composites’ unique high specification composition has been rigorously tested (in accordance with BS 7976-2:2002+A1:2013) and achieves ultra-low slip potential in both wet and dry conditions.
